Perhaps
the company should have been called Alice. She is one of my six
sisters who encouraged me to start cycling. We did a TRAM together,
The Ride Across Minnesota for MS.
On this
first ride I discovered that many people who want to ride together
do not have the same skills. From this realization came the idea
for the Sociable™. It allows two people of dissimilar skills
to ride side by side, each person contributes what they are capably
of to the ride.
The refinements
to the Sociable™ came from customers and experience. The Tricumbent™
Trike came from realizing that not everyone had a partner, but still
wanted a stable ride.
On both
the Sociable™ and the Tricumbent™, the rider does not
have to unclip or put their foot down at every stop. They also can
go slowly without losing their balance, a wonderful addition for
those who like to enjoy the view.
Some recumbents
only have two wheels, which requires a lot of energy to balance.
It also, requires that the rider go at least 4 or 5 miles per hour
to keep their balance. We believe that many more people would cycle
if they would ride the Sociable™ and/or Tricumbent™,
where balance is less of an issue for the rider.
Many cyclists
today are caught up in the advertising of conventional, old fashioned
cycles. To ride these cycles the rider experiences sore bottoms,
sore wrists, necks, shoulders and hands all because they are hoodwinked
by clever advertising.
The reality
is that riding a recumbent, not only makes all that pain go away,
it gives the rider a beautiful vista as they cycle our beautiful
country. In addition you still obtain the same athletic workout
and conditioning. You have my word on it.
